Glossary
The glossary defines the words used in the app and in these docs, in alphabetical order.

API key. A secret string that lets your own code trade on your account through the Public API. It is shown once, when you create it. See Security.
Arena. The paid mode of the Trading Competition. See Arena.

Entry price. The price at which your position opened.
Expiry. The end of a Synthetic token's life, or a 10000x Futures position reaching its max lifetime. Open positions are settled at that moment.
G to L
Hall of Fame. A public ranking of the top Synthetic traders by profit and the top token creators by creator fees. See Hall of Fame.
Holding fee. A 10000x Futures fee charged per minute as a fraction of your stake, for as long as the position is open. See 10000x Futures fees.
Leverage. How many times your stake or collateral is multiplied to size the position. At 100x, a 1% price move changes the position value by 100% of your stake.
Liquidation. The automatic close of a position when the price has moved against you far enough to use up your stake or collateral. You lose what you put in.
Liquidation price. The price at which the position is liquidated. On 10000x Futures it is fixed when you open.
Long. A position that gains when the price goes up.
Loss fee. A 10000x Futures fee on a manual close or an expiry with no gain, as a fraction of the stake.
M to R
Main balance. Your balance in US dollars. The only balance you can withdraw.
Maintenance margin. On Synthetic leverage, the share of the position value your remaining collateral must cover. When it falls below that share, the position is liquidated. Set per speed mode.
Max lifetime. The longest a 10000x Futures position can stay open. When it is reached, the position closes at the current price.

Network (Chain). The blockchain a token travels on, for example Arbitrum or BNB Chain. A deposit and its address must use the same one.
Notional. The full size of a leveraged position: collateral times leverage. A $10 collateral at 20x has a $200 notional.
Open fee (Trade fee). The fee on each Synthetic buy or sell, as a fraction of the trade amount.
PnL (P&L). Profit and loss: what a position has made or lost so far, or at close. In a competition, Total P&L is your competition balance minus the starting balance.
Points. A score you earn from trading and other actions, ranked on a leaderboard. See Points.
Position balance. Money that is in your open positions right now.
Price index. The 10000x Futures price: a composite of prices from major crypto exchanges. See Price index and execution.
Profit fee. A fee taken from the profit of a winning close, never from a loss.
Profit target. The bonus profit you must make before a bonus unlocks: 10x the bonus.
Provably fair. A Synthetic token's whole price path is committed by a public hash when the token is created, and the path and its salt are revealed after the end so anyone can check the hash. See Provably fair charts.
$PULT. Catapult's token. Competition prizes are paid in it. See $PULT.
Raffle. The Daily Raffle: a daily prize pool paid to the top traders by Synthetic volume. Places go by volume, not by a random draw. See Daily Raffle.
Referral. A user who signed up through your invite link. You earn a share of their fees. See Referral Program.
