Bonuses and coupons

LiveLast verified 4 Nov 2026

A bonus is money on your Bonus Balance that you can trade with on Synthetic and that becomes real, withdrawable money after you make a profit of 10x the bonus with it. A coupon is different: it adds real money to your Main balance right away.

Where bonus comes from

  • Competition bonus case. Exchange part of your competition balance and make a deposit; you get a bonus equal to the deposit on top. See Converting winnings to bonus.
  • Top 3 in the Demo competition. Places 1 to 3 get a bonus to their Bonus Balance next to the $PULT prize, paid when you claim the prize. See Prizes and leaderboard.

Rules for spending bonus

  • Synthetic trades only. Bonus pays for Synthetic spot and leverage trades, long or short. It never pays for 10000x Futures, token creation, boosters or competition trades.
  • Real money first. A Synthetic trade is paid from real money first. Bonus pays only when your real money is below $0.10. A trade that would need both is refused; you can open it with the part your real money covers.
  • No real money at work. You cannot open a bonus trade while you have open positions paid with real money, a withdrawal that is not completed, creator fees you have not claimed, or a token you created that is still live. Close, wait or claim first.
  • Profit stays bonus. When a bonus position closes, all its profit (after fees) goes to your Bonus Balance, not to real money. A loss reduces the Bonus Balance.
  • Not withdrawable until unlocked. Bonus never leaves Catapult as bonus.
  • Bonus case and withdrawals. A withdrawal that leaves too little withdrawable real money behind removes all bonus from the competition bonus case. See Using and keeping the bonus.

How the unlock works

The profit target

Each bonus you receive adds to one shared profit target:

R=m×BR = m \times B

where BB is the total bonus credited since your Bonus Balance was last empty and mm is the multiplier, now 10x.

Example: you receive a $20 bonus. R=10×20=200R = 10 \times 20 = 200, so you need $200 of profit. If you later get another $10 bonus while the first is still there, B=30B = 30 and R=300R = 300.

What counts as profit

Only closed Synthetic positions paid with bonus count. Each one adds its own profit after all fees:

ΔP=max⁡(0,  C−b)\Delta P = \max\bigl(0,\; C - b\bigr)

where CC is what the close returns to your Bonus Balance after the trade and profit fees, and bb is what the bonus paid to open the position, its open fee included. Your progress is the sum, capped at the target:

P=min⁡(R,  ∑iΔPi)P = \min\Bigl(R,\; \sum_i \Delta P_i\Bigr)
  • A losing close or a liquidation adds 0. It never lowers your progress and never lowers the target.
  • Real-money trades, Futures and competition trades never count.
  • Profit above the target is not saved for a later bonus.

Example: you open a $20 Synthetic position with bonus. It closes and returns $26.40 to your Bonus Balance after fees. Progress grows by $26.40 - $20 = $6.40. Your next bonus position costs $26.40 and closes at $18: progress grows by 0, it stays $6.40. The one after costs $18 and closes at $30: progress grows by $12 to $18.40. Still needed: $200 - $18.40 = $181.60.

The unlock

The unlock happens on the close of a bonus position when both are true:

  • your progress has reached the target (P≥RP \ge R), and
  • after this close, no bonus is left in open positions.

At that moment:

to real money=min⁡(W,  B)removed=max⁡(0,  W−B)\text{to real money} = \min(W,\; B) \qquad \text{removed} = \max(0,\; W - B)

where WW is your Bonus Balance at that moment and BB the bonus credited. The bonus becomes real money up to the amount you were given. Bonus profit above that amount is removed. After the unlock your Bonus Balance is 0 and the target starts again from 0 with the next bonus.

Example: you received $20, made $200 of bonus profit and closed your last bonus position. Your Bonus Balance is $220. $20 moves to your Main balance and $200 is removed. If a losing last trade had left the Bonus Balance at $12.50, the whole $12.50 would move to real money and nothing would be removed.

If you lose the bonus

If your Bonus Balance and your bonus in open positions both reach $0, the target and progress go back to 0. Nothing is unlocked. A new bonus starts a new target.

The unlock happens on the close that leaves no bonus in open positions. Losses never lower the profit made so far.

FAQ

Can I withdraw my bonus? Not as bonus. After the unlock, the unlocked amount is real money and you can withdraw it.

Why was part of my bonus profit removed at unlock? The unlock turns at most the bonus you were given into real money. Bonus profit above that is removed. Profit you made with real money is never affected.

Does a deposit help the unlock? No. Only profit from bonus trades counts. A deposit is real money and is spent before the bonus.

I have real money and bonus. Why can I not use the bonus? Bonus pays only when real money is below $0.10 and you have no real money at work (see the rules above).

Does a liquidation reset my progress? No. Progress never goes down.
