Creator earnings
When you create a public token, you earn half of the trade fee on every trade made on it, and you claim those earnings once the token's life ends.
The rule
- Every buy, sell, open and close on a Synthetic token pays a trade fee of 1% (see Fees).
- On a public token, 50% of that trade fee goes to the token's creator: 0.5% of every trade amount.
- The creator share is part of the fee traders already pay. It does not make trading on your token more expensive.
- The profit fee is not shared with the creator.
- Private and competition tokens pay no creator earnings.
- Only the part of a trade paid with real balance counts. The part of a trade paid with Bonus Balance earns the creator nothing.
- A trader's referral discount does not reduce your share. It is taken from the referral reward instead.
Formula
For one trade leg with amount (the amount paid to open, or the value at close), trade fee rate and creator share :
For a whole token, the sum over every leg:

How to claim
Earnings build up while the token is live and become claimable when the token expires. You claim all expired tokens at once from the Dashboard, or one token from its own page. The Dashboard also lists every token you created with its volume and fees earned. The claimed amount is added to your balance as a creator fee transaction, with no fee on the claim.
Through the API: claimCreatorFeeAPI and claimAllCreatorFeesAPI.
Edge cases
- No minimum. Any unclaimed amount above $0 can be claimed.
FAQ
I saw "50% of fees" and "0.5%" in different places. Which is right? Both. The trade fee is 1% of each trade, and the creator gets half of it: 0.5% of the trade amount.
When can I claim? After the token expires. A live token shows earnings building up but cannot be claimed yet.
Do I earn on a private token? No. Private tokens pay no creator earnings.
